Finding the perfect wedding venue can be one of the biggest, and most fun, challenges a couple can face. Although I am a Vermont based makeup artist, and not a venue owner, I have had the privilege of traveling to some of Vermont’s finest wedding venues. Here are some of my favorites (in no particular order!) Is your venue on the list?! 1- The Barn at Boyden Farm: This venue is the of epitome of a classic Vermont wedding. Views extending over the Green Mountains, and fields of their vineyard create an elegant and luxurious backdrop for any wedding. Stepping inside the big red barn, it can really be a blank canvas for any type of decor you want to add. As a makeup artist, I personally love the “getting ready rooms” in the lower part of the barn. Having a space designed for makeup and hair artists is a win in my book! Be sure to check them out here: https://www.boydenbarn.com/ 2- Lake Bomoseen Lodge: Looking for a lakeside wedding in Vermont? Look no further! Arden and the team at Lake Bomoseen Lodge will be sure to give you and your wedding guests the best experience out there! Views of Lake Bomoseen can be seen from nearly every window in the grand room. They even have an island you can boat out to for your ceremony! As a makeup artist, I can appreciate the well-lit and spacious rooms on the grounds. Sleepy Hollow Inn provides a quaint, charming, and intimate wedding experience set within the rolling mountains of Huntington, Vermont, just below Camels Hump. Their unique Round Barn provides an open area that all wedding guests can enjoy! Looking to get more outdoor feels? Enjoy the gazebo overlooking the pond, or explore the extensive trails on over 800 acres! This Vermont venue will be sure to charm all your guests. Look no further than River Road Farm in Manchester, Vermont. Their 100 year old barn has been extensively renovated into a dream facility. Add large and dramatic drapes, and long, elegant tablescapes to the space to create your dreamy Vermont wedding. With some housing onsite, your guests can enjoy the intimacy of such a special event. I was lucky enough to get the full tour when I worked on a Styled Shoot here in 2018 with Harlow & Dahlia Events. With stunning mountain views, and plenty of rooms for your guests, Jay Peak is a top hitter for venues in Vermont. For a unique experience, travel up the Tram to the top of the mountain- can’t beat those pictures! Stay an extra few nights and discover the golf course, or Jay Peak water park.
